About PIC

“Providing support to organizations to identify inefficiencies and help implement measures for productivity improvements.”

PIC provides financial support to Small-and-Medium-Sized-Enterprises (SMEs) toward third party productivity assessments. These assessments aim to identify ways in which SME’s can increase their productivity in different areas of their operations. The productivity assessment process will examine 10 different areas of a firm’s operations, including Vision, Strategy and Leadership, Organizational Structure & Culture, and Operational Processes and Workflow. Once operations are examined and areas of improvement are identified, PIC will offer further assistance to implement the recommended changes that will increase a firm’s overall operational efficiency.

PIC is part of the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs (ONE). We also acknowledge and appreciate the support of the following organizations:

  • Timmins Economic Development Corporation
  • North Eastern Ontario Communications Network Inc. (NEOnet)
  • FedNor
  • Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC)
  • Other private and public sector partners

History

Since late 2010, the Timmins Economic Development Corporation, Timmins Chamber of Commerce and other private and public sector organizations have been involved in a committee working toward establishing a Centre of Excellence/Innovation for northeastern Ontario. Their efforts were driven and validated by community feedback showing a growing desire and public support for such a Centre.

The Timmins Economic Development Corporation was tasked to lead this initiative and take it from concept to reality. With project funding now secured, PIC has a permanent home at Northern College within NEOnet. We opened our doors on April 30, 2014, with a mission to “deliver and help organizations access programming to realize operational efficiencies.
