“Staying connected with organizations across the region through regular and informative events.”

TIMMINS, ON – July 23rd, 2014 – Businesses in northeastern Ontario will now have access to innovation-related services and programming.

The Productivity & Innovation Centre (PIC) is now a member of the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs (ONE). Funded by Ontario’s joint Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Employment / Ministry of Research and Innovation, ONE is a province-wide network of regional and industry-focused not-for-profit organizations that support Ontario businesses through their provisions of expertise and business funding grants. Experts in growing knowledge-based companies, ONE delivers services and programs that can help entrepreneurs grow their company and gain a competitive edge.

As a member of ONE and with the support of the Timmins Economic Development Corporation, NEOnet and partners, PIC will focus on building innovation and productivity capacity within Small- to Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) across northeastern Ontario. PIC will provide SMEs with financial assistance to have a subject matter expert examine their operations via third party productivity assessments. The Centre will also help SMEs move forward with commercialization of products and/or initiatives, increasing their overall operational efficiencies. PIC can facilitate access to provincial/federal innovation programming through ONE, Ontario Centres of Excellence, IRAP and other sources to assist with all stages of business development, from research & development to commercialization.

Entrepreneurs are a key part of Ontario’ economic future. In collaboration with ONE, PIC will contribute toward the new government’s objective of helping innovators succeed and build a prosperous province.
